Westward Migration

  • Post a comment

We have finished our study of the various immigrant groups who have moved to the United States. We have also studied where different groups of people have settled. We also learned about groups of people who traveled west and the motivating factors for migration. Now we are reading historical fiction books to help us better understand the time period.

Beautiful Land: A Story of the Oklahoma Land Rush (Once Upon America) Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World Skylark (Sarah, Plain and Tall) Dear Levi: Letters from the Overland Trail Dakota Spring
We also read these picture books!

Train to Somewhere Rachel's Journal: The Story of a Pioneer Girl Wagons West! The WAY WEST: Journal of a Pioneer Woman (Aladdin Picture Books) Prairie Train Prairie Town (Small Town U.S.A.) Lewis and Clark: Explorers of the American West Dandelions
Have you read any of these books?
